Gold and Silver Bullion FAQs
for UAE Buyers
Bullion prices start with the current market rate for the metal, often called the spot price. The product premium and any payment-related charge that applies are then added. Because metal prices move throughout the day, the amount shown can change until the order price is confirmed.
The live rate reflects the metal value. A physical bar also carries a product premium that can vary with its weight, refiner, packaging and market demand. This is why two bars with the same purity can have different retail prices.
Often, yes. The production and packaging cost is spread across less metal, so smaller bars tend to carry a higher premium per gram than larger bars. They can still suit buyers who want a lower starting amount or more flexibility with individual pieces.
It means the bar is 99.99% gold by fineness and is commonly described as 24K gold. Always check the fineness stated on the product because bullion coins and other precious metal products can use different purities.
Gold bars are often chosen when the goal is to own physical gold with a lower product premium, especially at larger weights. Coins can carry a different premium because the mint, design or collector demand may affect the price. The right format depends on why you are buying and how you expect to keep or gift it.
UAE Good Delivery is the UAE’s national Good Delivery framework for gold. It sets accreditation requirements for approved refiners and gives buyers a local reference when checking bullion produced in the UAE. When Bullion Souq lists bullion made by a UAEGD-accredited refiner, you can check that refiner against the official UAE Good Delivery member list.
Start with the refiner markings and fineness stamped on the product. Where applicable, also check the assay card, serial number and original packaging. Keep your invoice and any certificate after purchase because these can help when bullion is later verified or resold.
Qualifying investment precious metals are zero-rated for UAE VAT. UAE rules define these as gold, silver or platinum with a purity of at least 99% and in a form tradeable in global bullion markets. This does not mean every gold or silver product is automatically zero-rated. Taxable 22k, 21k, and 18k gold products carry 5% VAT. The VAT that applies is shown with the product or at checkout.
